Turn and Mill Machine Types and Applications

Turn and Mill Machine is known as a cranked press. It can be defined as a hand-powered machine used to manufacture various metal products. The products manufactured using this kind of machine are normally made of brass, copper or steel. Manufacturers of various kinds of metalworking, building and auto materials commonly use these hand-cranked press. These cranked presses usually use a combination of pulleys and force to make a hollow shaped wall.

Based on the type of machine, they might also be able to crank in several directions. For instance, the turning centers are useful for making brass pipe. In other words, these machines can work in various directions, just like a lathe. These machines make use of an arm, a turning center and a workpiece such as a ring, cone or screw. CNC turning centers are often used to perform various types of decorative or industrial tasks. They can even cut out patterns, pattern lines or logos.

Turn and milling machines perform various tasks of turning and milling, with the technology of computer numerical control. CNC machining centers can operate in single-step, multi-step or high-mills operations. Some of these machines include CNC lathes, CNC turning centers, CNC milling centers and CNC grinding centers. There are many advantages of CNC machining centers. For instance, it eliminates the need for manual labor, produces consistent results and provides a large cost savings.
